A Little Lunch Music: The Few

January 21, 2016 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

A Little Lunch Music is an informal performance presented by Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art and musician Patrick McCurry, series coordinator. You can sit and listen to the entire performance, dine in the Museum Café from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., browse the shop, or explore the galleries.

The Few, an improvised-music trio from Chicago, will perform a free concert for A Little Lunch Music on January 21 from noon to 1:00 pm in the auditorium. The program will be fully improvised. The concert is being sponsored by Anonymous Friends of the Series.

The Few (audio sample at right) brings together three of the most dynamic string players from the latest generation of Chicago’s storied improvised music community. Macie Stewart (violin / voice), Charlie Kirchen (bass), Steve Marquette (guitar) form an improvising, acoustic trio that deftly blends their wide ranging influences into a singular whole.
