February 9
Cloud Atlas introduced by Jiha Moon

From the creators of The Matrix trilogy and the director of Run Lola RunCloud Atlasexplores how the actions of individual lives impact one another in the past, present and future, as one soul is shaped from a killer into a hero, and an act of kindness ripples across centuries to inspire a revolution.

The story is a time-shifting weave of six interlinking narratives, with diverse settings from the savagery of a Pacific Island in the 1850s to a dystopian Korea of the near future. Action, mystery and romance weave dramatically through the story as one soul is shaped from a killer into a hero, and a single act of kindness ripples across centuries to inspire a revolution.

Based on the best-selling novel Cloud Atlas written by David Mitchell. Featuring an all-star cast led by Tom Hanks and Halle Berry.

Future. Present. Past. Everything is connected.

February 23
Lost Horizon introduced by Karen Kuo, Arizona State

British diplomat Robert Conway and a small group of civilians crash land in the Himalayas, and are rescued by the people of the mysterious, Eden-like valley of Shangri-la. Protected by the mountains from the world outside, where the clouds of World War II are gathering, Shangri-la provides a seductive escape for the world-weary Conway.

March 30
The World introduced by Arianne Gaetano, Auburn University

A young dancer, her security-guard boyfriend and others work at World Park, a bizarre cross-pollination of Las Vegas and Epcot Center where visitors can interact with famous international monuments without ever leaving the Bejing suburbs. Daily lavish shows are performed amongst replicas of the Taj Mahal, the Eiffel Tower, St. Mark’s Square, Big Ben, the Pyramids and even the Twin Towers. But working beyond the kitsch potential, ‘The World’ casts a compassionate eye on the daily loves, friendships and desperate dreams of these provincial workers.
