October 11 @ 2 pm: Noi e la Giulia (Giulia and Us)
Comedy | 115 min.
Three 40-year-olds flee their own failures and unite in the project of creating a rustic B&B in the hinterland east of Naples. A curious Mafioso pulls up on the scene in his old Giulia 1300, demanding protection money on their increasingly successful business, forcing them to resist his tyranny in a rather extraordinary fashion.
October 25 @ 2pm: La terra dei santi (The Land of the Saints)
Thriller | 80 min.
Ambitious magistrate Vittoria makes the dramatic decision to relocate from the north to the south of Italy with one mission in mind– to defeat the Calabrian ‘‘Ndrangheta’ mafia. She is flabbergasted by the violence, the cruelty and the killings that Mafia men project– even youngsters are not spared. But instead of targeting the men, Vittoria tries a new approach; an appeal to the women involved in these circles. The bosses’ wives are as hard as nails; they will not talk and will not betray their powerful husbands, but could it be they have a soft spot for their own children?
