“Mississippi Mystic: The Life and Work of Walter Anderson” with Mattie Codling

Join the director of collections and exhibitions at the Walter Anderson Museum of Art for a special preview of “The Third Poetry: The Transcendent Art of Walter Inglis Anderson.” During an illuminating curator talk, Mattie Codling discusses the celebrated artist’s career, prolific body of work, and place in the arts and crafts and American Contemporary Art movements.

The exhibition officially opens Oct. 27, but a limited number of seats are available to preview nearly 60 works on view, on loan from the Walter Anderson Museum of Art in Ocean Springs, Mississippi). Discover block prints, watercolors and ceramics documenting coastal life and other iconic representations of the Mississippi Gulf Coast region.

Auditorium seating is limited and on a first-come, first-serve basis for the 6 p.m. curator talk. Galleries and cash bar open at 5 p.m. Advance registration is strongly encouraged. Please fill all available seats. Additional seats may be released as space and time allows.
