Self-Care Saturday

February 25 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Take time for yourself this week. Every Saturday morning this Spring semester, the Jule will be hosting a free, hour-long activity that is connected to the “Invisible Thread” exhibition. Like “Invisible Thread,” these activities will center on mindfulness, spirituality and self-reflection. They are designed to help alleviate your stress from a long week, allowing you to relax and focus on your well-being.

We encourage registration for these events as space in the gallery is limited.

*Mats for physical activities (like yoga) will not be provided.

This weeks activity and instructor:

Yoga with Elizabeth Shannon

Elizabeth is originally from Monroeville, AL. She moved to Auburn in 2001 and graduated Auburn University in 2004. She is married to Auburn native, JM Shannon and they have three sons. She first came to yoga as a complimentary workout to running, but quickly found that yoga was the complete package.
“Vinyasa yoga builds heat and energy, strengthens the body and improves mobility. It also teaches you how to focus your mind and stay grounded and present. That’s something we could all use in our hectic, daily lives.”
Her classes are quite physical, however, you can always expect modification options. As with all of the teachers at The Yoga Room, her sequences are very thoughtful and intentional and her playlists maybe more so!
