Sept. 22: Opening Reception, 5 pm
“Showcase: The Work of Creative Scholarship,” in conjunction with Auburn’s “This is Research: Faculty Symposium 2016,” will include works in the fields of fine art, the performing arts, creative writing, applied design and other related disciplines.
An opening reception for the exhibition on Thursday, Sept. 22, from 5-7 p.m. will feature a jazz combo from 5-5:40 p.m., a woodwind quintet from 5:45-6:20 p.m., and a saxophone quartet from 6:25-7 p.m., all provided by Auburn’s Department of Music. All events are free and open to the public.
In addition to the public exhibition featuring selections of a diverse range of creative scholarship by Auburn University faculty and students, a complete online exhibition of “Showcase: The Work of Creative Scholarship” can be viewed at aub.ie/ResearchShowcase.
Student vocalist Jin Lee, a creative scholarship participant, will give a performance and discussion Sept. 29 from noon through 1 p.m. in the auditorium of the Jule Collins Smith Museum as part of “A Little Lunch Music.” A book will be published later this year featuring the creative scholarship produced by faculty and students.
