Artist Statement

I mostly draw little doodles of “floating heads” and animals. Everything is a mix of cartoonish styles.

Winning Artwork

This is a sculpture of a shark with its main fins wrapped in yarn to represent how they are cut off in shark finning. The yarn on the base represents the massive amount of blood released in the process. The burlap strings represent the net used in catching the sharks. The shark is also usually alive after being thrown into the water, and cannot swim or fend for itself, hence the limp positioning of the body.
