Art Exposure classes meet on select Tuesdays once a month at JCSM. Classes focus on developing museum and visual literacy skills. Students will visit the galleries during each class and then work on a short project to extend their thinking and practice art techniques in connection to the gallery discussions and activities.
Students will keep a sketchbook throughout the semester. A take home sheet with suggested extensions to the topic and lesson of that day will be provided at the end of each class.
Grades Kindergarten through Fifth Grade and Grades 6th Grade through 12th will meet for their own separate sessions. These sessions will be capped at 15 students to ensure a small student-to-educator ratio. Parents and guardians are invited and encouraged to join the artmaking and gallery discussions.
Register your child on Eventbrite. There will be a waiting list on Eventbrite that you can register for after the class is filled.
