JCSM remembers Jule Collins Smith

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jule Collins Smith, who passed away surrounded by her loving family Saturday. We at JCSM express our heartfelt gratitude to have known Jule, who will always be remembered her for passion for the arts and education. “Her spirit will continue with every child who experiences their personal capacity for creative expression and with every adult and Auburn student that has had that ‘aha’ moment, which makes their experience with art so life-changing and meaningful at our museum,” Marilyn Laufer, Museum Director.

A memorial service will be held this Friday, June 19 in Houston, Texas. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family asks that donations be made to Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art. If you wish you may designate your gift to a specific fund, (i.e. 1072 Society, K-12 Education, Acquisition Funds, Adult Programs, Endowments, etc.), or it can just go to benefit JCSM in Jule’s memory. If you would like to share your thoughts, memories and condolences, please leave them in the comments below.
