The Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art welcomes an estimated 30,000 visitors annually and depends upon its generous donors to help meet our mission goals.
Our Mission
The mission of The Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Arts is to collect, preserve, exhibit and interpret works of art, providing a venue for exciting art experiences that challenge minds, sharpen perceptions and engage imaginations.
Educational programs focus on age-appropriate instruction in art history and art appreciation for school children, university students and the general public.
While the museum collects a range of significant works that reflect the diversity of global art and culture, our collections concentrate on the modern, particularly on the nineteenth century American art. Though its collections and programs, the museum supports the tripartite mission of the university in instruction, research and outreach.
