The Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art welcomes an estimated 30,000 visitors annually and depends upon its generous donors to help meet our mission goals.
Our Mission
Art changes lives. Our mandate within the larger mission of Auburn University is to preserve, enhance, research
and interpret the collections entrusted to us. Through the presentation of compelling exhibitions and programs
to our diverse audiences, we foster the transformative power of art.
Educational programs focus on age-appropriate instruction in art history and art appreciation for school children, university students and the general public.
While the museum collects a range of significant works that reflect the diversity of global art and culture, our collections include representative work of 19th and 20th century art including American modernism. Though its collections and programs, the museum supports the tripartite mission of the university in instruction, research and outreach.
