Radical Naturalism: Daniel Newman

Radical Naturalism: Daniel Newman

A non representational painting with strokes of paint and visible paw marks.

Florida-born artist Daniel Newman, who frequently experiments with digital image manipulation and artificial intelligence, brings his practice into the physical world and exhibits alongside selections from the university collection of etchings from The Viviparous Quadrupeds of North America. The artist collaborates with animals that paint, challenging ideas around non-human creators’ awareness, reason and intelligence, imagining the subjects’ agency in Audubon’s series.

With animal collaborators:

Bonnie, Cody, Enzo, Ivy, Koa, Leonard, Margaux, McKee, Peekaboo, Pockets Warhol, Ralphie, Schultz, Wally. Wilhelmina
