Randi Evans, manager of public practice and community partnerships

The Jule extends our congratulations to our Manager of Public Practice and Community Partnerships, Randi Evans, for being selected to participate in the Southeastern Museums Conference (SEMC)’s 2025 Jekyll Island Management Institute (JIMI).

JIMI is an 8-day immersive experience for a select, 20-member cohort of emerging museum professionals seeking to broaden their understanding of museum operations to advance to management or leadership roles in the overall museum field. Participants learn best practices across both visitor-facing and behind-the-scenes work. Held at Villa Ospo in the Jekyll Island Historic District in Jekyll Island, Georgia, the Institute provides its cohort with an overview and better understanding of various roles within a museum that work together toward the function of the overall institution.

As manager of public practice and community partnerships, Evans has built relationships between Auburn’s art museum and a variety of community organizations, organizing public programming opportunities for the Auburn University community and the surrounding area. Most recently, she led the inaugural Museum in Motion initiative, Sew Their Names, a partnership between Auburn’s art museum and the Mt. Willing Quilters that aims to honor the erased and forgotten lives of enslaved people of Alabama through the stitching of names into commemorative quilts.
