Artist's Statement
Like many artists before me, I think about my surroundings, my observations of them, and their intersection with the abstract properties of art and the picture plane. The fascination of how a painting or drawing mediates these ideas for us, situating itself perfectly between our mind and the cosmos, is what interests me. I am fortunate and grateful to have the American South as my home, as it has generously supplied me with endless unique, mysterious, and beautiful subject-matter for this work.
