Our theme for Spring Family Day “Art and Nature,” in honor of both Earth Day and John James Audubon’s birthday. Join us for a wide range of family-friendly activities highlighting the world around us and its influence on art.
Take part in four hands-on stations:
- Create wax watercolor resist leaf rubbings
- Make a beeswax candle
- Work in clay, and make an Alabama wildflower seed ball
- Design a bird house (while supplies last)
Observe a bee hive with the Auburn Bee Lab, and taste wild honey. They’ll also bring a drone petting zoo. Fort Benning’s Parent to Parent Organization will have a fun story time and craft. Author Charles Ghinga will read and sign his new book “Alabama, My Home Sweet Home.” Copies of his book are available in the Museum Shop. While supplies last, take home a native pollinator plant and help the bees at your house.
