“From Her Innermost Self: Visionary Art of Southern Women” celebrates the vivid personal expressions of 20th-century, self-taught Southern women artists. Included in this exhibition are works by Mozell Benson, Sister Gertrude Morgan, Mattie Ross, Bernice Sims, Myrtice West, Mary Frances Whitfield and a number of other women who created beyond the bounds of the mainstream art world.
