Q: What’s your major and why did you choose it?

A: I am majoring in Political Science and German with a History minor. I chose these majors because I want to work in International Relations and am interested in other cultures.

Q: What’s your favorite thing about your program?

A: I enjoy how small the German program is; it feels more personal and easier to connect with my peers.

Q: What’s your career goal?

A: My career goal is to work overseas in government as a Foreign Services Officer.

Q: What has been your favorite part of working at The Jule?

A: My favorite part of working at the Jule is the creative ways we connect what is in our galleries with other forms of art. Whether it be through a craft activity, music, or objects found in the artwork, it makes the tours more interactive and fun.

Q: What experience have you gained at The Jule that you expect to carry into your career?

A: I have gained public speaking experience as well as research experience.

Q: How has your time working at The Jule informed your coursework or choice of major?

A: The “Advancing American Art” collection has informed my coursework in my Political Science and History classes when examining the politics during that time period. Artwork is also used as a primary source in most history courses.

Q: What has surprised you the most about working in an academic art museum?

A: It has surprised me how many different age groups come into the museum. I am so happy to see younger audiences enjoying the space and not feeling out of place. The museum is very interactive and welcoming to different ages/experiences.

Q: Tell us about a project you participated in at The Jule.

A: I created a Taylor Swift-themed tour which looked into the role pop culture plays/interacts with museums.

Q: What is your favorite work of art at The Jule Museum?

A: Julie Blackmon’s “Night Movie” is my favorite because it reminds me of the summers I spent at my grandparents’ house. I also love the movie, “The Sound of Music”.
