Q: What is your major and why did you choose it?
A: I am a senior studying Public Relations. I chose this major after I traveled to over 20 countries and realized how important relationships are in all aspects of life.
Q: What is your favorite thing about your program?
A: My favorite thing is how diverse the major is and the connections I have been able to make with fellow students and faculty.
Q: Have you participated in any exciting research or projects?
A: Last semester, I took a research class where we got to research and analyze possible campaign tactics for the Auburn Women’s Basketball team. It was a very insightful class and I learned a lot of valuable tactics to use in my future career.
Q: Name some of your most exciting accomplishments at AU.
A: One of my favorite accomplishments at Auburn University is getting to work on set for the creation of the 2024 football videoboard films. It was a great experience getting to see it go from on set to the board at the game.
Q: What is your career goal?
A: My career goals include various dreams of mine, such as working as a creative director for a fashion brand, helping clients grow while working at a PR firm, and one day working/directing a feature film.
Q: What has been your favorite part of working at The Jule?
A: My favorite thing about working at The Jule is the work environment. There is opportunity to be creative and to express yourself through your work. Oh, and the people I get to work with are pretty cool too… 🙂
Q: What experience have you gained at The Jule you expect to career into your career?
A: While working at The Jule, I have been able to learn about the [behind the scenes] for hosting events, how to better create an online presence for the museum, and how to communicate with colleagues. These things will be very helpful, as I will be entering the workforce in December.
Q: What has surprised you the most about working in an art museum?
A: By working at the museum, I have learned how many ins and outs there are to running a museum to the best of its ability. As an art lover, I had always visited museums; now, I am getting to see the components of what make a museum run and it’s almost as interesting to me as it is to look at a piece of art.
Q: Tell me about another experience outside of the class – internship, lab, study abroad, etc.
A: Last year, I met up with a group of creatives in Iceland. I had never been to Iceland and I had also never met the people who were going on the trip. It was the precursor to my “Do It Afraid” year, where I decided to say yes to everything for a year, to face my fears. It was the best trip of my life.
Q: What is your favorite thing about Auburn?
A: My favorite thing about Auburn is the people and the family atmosphere that we embody here on the plains. My mom is an Auburn alum, and it can be said that Auburn means a lot to myself and my family. I will be graduating in December and if I could say anything to incoming freshmen, it would be to tell them it’s true what they say… If you truly love Auburn, Auburn will love you right back.
