Artist Statement

“Tree of Good and Evil consists of tools, machine parts, and other found objects, along with bronze and steel figures that are welded to the side of a tree-shape. The work was inspired by the Old Testament parable in Genesis. It is a metaphor for our ambivalent relationship to technology.”  Charles Pilkey, Mint Hill, North Carolina
